Activities for 26 September - 2 October
No events this week - but keep your eyes open for people competing in the Thievery Corporation competition, especially if you're wandering around the Cashel St area during the week ;-)
If you're registered to vote, you should be filling out your local body election ballots about now. I know of two groups of activists that have spun off from the globalisation/war/environmental protests and are now running for council: WEcan and Health Cuts Hurt are both standing candidates. WEcan stands for... uh, I've already posted plenty about them; just follow the links. HCH opposes cuts to health funding and the resulting drop in services, like the closure of Queen Mary in Hanmer and the cutting of 10,000 cantabrians from waiting lists.
